Event entertainment for city festivals, park nights and holiday lightings
For parks and recreation staff planning a community festival, a movie night in the park or a tree lighting, with several activities on one plan.
Planning a holiday event? Lock in your date.
A city event has a lot of moving parts: permits, vendors, a site map and a crowd that arrives all at once. Big Idea Entertainment gives parks and recreation teams one events team for the activity side, with several activities from our family of brands on one plan.
Every event is delivered by an operator in our family, whose staff run each activity on the day. Which activities are available depends on your city and date, and the mix is confirmed with your quote.
Festivals, movie nights, holiday tree lightings and summer concert evenings all start the same way: tell us the event and the footprint, and the plan places each activity where the crowd will be.
What we bring
Snow from Big Idea Blizzard: a foamy snow that runs indoors or outdoors, in any temperature. Carnival games from Backyard Carnival, with staff who run every booth. Giant bubbles from Big Idea Bubbles. Portable mini golf from Mini Golf Anywhere. Foam from Foam Palooza. Gellyball from Gellyball Adventures and Gellyball Legends. Which activities are available depends on your city and date.
Sample package: holiday tree lighting
A snow festival (snow, winter games, tents, attendants and music) near the tree, with a second activity along the way in, so families have something to do before the lights go on. Described here without a price; priced with your quote.
Budget
Events run from $500, plus travel where it applies.

Single-activity pages
Booking one activity for a festival? Backyard Carnival, Big Idea Bubbles and Mini Golf Anywhere each carry a festivals and community events page, and Big Idea Blizzard has its holiday page.
Can activities run at an evening event outdoors?
Many can. Snow runs outdoors in any temperature, and where gellyball is booked, its glow package puts blacklights around the field after dark. Tell us your start and end time, and the plan matches activities to it.
How much space and power does each activity need?
It is set per activity. A snow festival needs a 25 x 25 ft flat area, grass or pavement, and 2 standard outlets. A carnival needs a 30x30 space and a power outlet. A gellyball field runs about 30x40 ft.
Can it scale to a large festival crowd?
Capacity is set per activity. A snow festival's standard setup serves about 30-35 guests, and bigger groups are quoted to size, with more stations or more activities on the plan.
What happens if the weather turns?
Your events team talks it through with you before the day, and the weather plan is confirmed with your quote.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as your event date is set. Send it, and our events team confirms availability within one business day.
